Through the Noise Presents: A Stellar Lineup for Edinburgh’s Unforgettable noisenights

Published:

Announcing their triumphant arrival in Edinburgh this fall, noisenights, the crowdfunded concert series by through the noise, is set to dazzle audiences after a string of sold-out London shows.

This eagerly anticipated season showcases a constellation of talent, including Fatma Said, Manchester Collective, Abel Selaocoe & The Bantu Ensemble, Alexandra Whittingham, Misha Mullov-Abbado, Thibaut Garcia, Lodestar Trio, Junyan Chen, Braimah Kanneh-Mason, and Jeneba Kanneh-Mason. These extraordinary performers will grace clubs and gig-venues across the country, including the renowned La Belle Angele in Edinburgh.

noisenights has a noble mission to introduce world-class classical musicians to audiences who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience their brilliance. From its humble beginnings as a fringe night in East London, this series has blossomed into a premier classical promotion over the past two years. Renowned artists like Sheku Kanneh-Mason have embarked on successful UK-wide noisenights tours. An impressive track record shows that out of the 44 noisenight shows held thus far, a staggering 42 have sold out.

Expanding upon the triumph of their inaugural tour last year, through the noise is now launching regular noisenights in various cities, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Birkenhead, Newcastle, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Brighton, and London. From October to December this year, through the noise will embark on no less than five classical projects, touring extensively throughout the UK. Furthermore, they have exciting plans to return to Edinburgh regularly in 2024. This represents a significant milestone for the community-led organization, which originated less than two years ago in grassroots venues in Hackney.

Drawing inspiration from the UK’s vibrant underground club scene and thriving jazz venues, noisenights offers a fresh and unconventional approach to experiencing live classical music. Through their unique crowdfunding model, they engage local communities by seeking their support in exchange for tickets, making it possible to bring international stars to intimate venues. Each event is confirmed only upon reaching its funding target, ensuring a shared commitment from the community.
