Scottish Whisky Awards Rescheduled for November

The national competition for Scotch Whisky has pledged to make every effort to stage its second annual awards programme as normally as possible in 2020.

Plans are now underway for the judging panel to assess products in the week commencing Monday 24 August 2020, in a newly designed tasting session.

The hugely successful Scottish Whisky Awards celebration has now been scheduled for Thursday 19 November 2020 at the Hilton Doubletree in Glasgow.  Last year, over 400 guests gathered in a sold out event to celebrate the wide-ranging competition which assesses both taste and business performance.

Over 100 whiskies were tasted and scored by a 32-strong judging panel from the UK, Europe and Asia.  The Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year 2019 was presented to The GlenAllachie Distillery in recognition of an outstanding year of business and after winning five medals in the blind tasting competition.

Entries now have an extended period to register for the competition and deliver product for the tasting.  For information and advice on entries, product deliveries and the event, please email Kirsten or Pippa.

Registration and entries close on Friday 14th August 2020.

The 2020 awards will be raising funds for The BEN, the Benevolent Society of the Licensed Trade of Scotland.
