Thousands of board game and role-playing enthusiasts are expected in Edinburgh this September as Tabletop Scotland returns to the Royal Highland Centre.
The volunteer-led gaming convention will take place from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September 2026, offering three days of board games, role-playing sessions, independent creators and family activities.
More than 4,250 people attended the festival in 2025, making it one of Scotlandβs largest events dedicated to tabletop gaming.
This yearβs programme will include an open board game library featuring hundreds of titles, with volunteers available to help visitors learn the rules and join games.
The convention will also host more than 130 exhibitors, including independent designers, artists, retailers and international game publishers.
A programme of Dungeons & Dragons and other role-playing sessions will cater for both experienced players and people trying the games for the first time.
Children under 16 will receive free entry when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
Families will also be able to visit a dedicated screen-free gaming area featuring activities designed to encourage problem-solving, numeracy, communication and social skills.
Organisers said the festival aims to provide an affordable social activity where families and groups of friends can spend time together away from phones, tablets and video games.
Tabletop Scotland has raised more than Β£36,000 for charitable causes since it was established in 2018.
The Scottish Huntingtonβs Association has been selected as the festivalβs charity partner for 2026. Representatives will attend the event to raise funds and awareness of the support available to families affected by Huntingtonβs disease.
Tabletop Scotland will take place at the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston, near Edinburgh Airport, from 4 to 6 September 2026.
