Edinburgh Tuition Service Responds to Demand for Personalised Learning

Edinburgh-based LS Tuition has officially launched its new initiative, The Accessing Excellence Studio to support the increasing number of families who are looking to move away from standard one-size-fits-all education models in search of tailored support.Β

Operating out of LS Tuition's calm, purpose-designed learning space in Craigmillar, the Studio introduces structured, small-group workshops designed to complement 1:1 tuition and directly support the growing demand from parents whose children find mainstream school environments difficult or overwhelming.

While particularly beneficial for pupils preparing for independent school entrance assessments, the studio’s discussion-based sessions are specifically structured to help all children, especially those facing learning barriers or school distress.

The Studio has been shaped by the needs of LS Tuition’s existing students, with 70% currently having additional support needs, including 25% with complex or significant additional support needs. Around 25% are currently home educated or flexi-schooled.

Lydia Scaltsas, Founder of LS Tuition, said:

Families are increasingly looking for educational support that recognises and responds to the individuality of each child. While schools play a hugely important role, many children, particularly those with additional support needs or those being educated at home, benefit from extra, personalised input that gives them the time, space, and tailored approach they need to feel successful.Β

β€œOur role is to complement a child’s learning journey by understanding how they think, how they process information, and what helps them feel secure. With the launch of The Accessing Excellence Studio, we are creating a calm, collaborative space where children can build communication skills, prepare for key academic milestones without anxiety, and learn alongside supportive peers.

Delivered exclusively by fully qualified teachers, the Studio maintains intentionally small group sizes to ensure highly personalised attention. Workshops will run throughout the year and will support entrance exam prep as well as developing skills in talking, listening and confidence.Β
