Estrella Galicia: September is Gastronomy Month

Following a sell-out success in 2021, premium Spanish beer brand Estrella Galicia is bringing its Gastronomy Month back this September for an even bigger and better second year. 

The month-long exploration of Spanish gastronomy will be celebrated in locations across the UK and Ireland at over 90 of the nation’s best loved Spanish pubs, bars and restaurants.

This year, consumers will be able to book an even wider variety of unique experiences to suit all budgets and occasions, including Tapas Tours, intimate masterclasses and exclusive tasting menus. Other offerings include Estrella Galicia’s ‘Beer and a Bite’ initiative, whereby diners at select venues can visit at any time to enjoy an Estrella Galicia beer perfectly paired with a delicious tapas dish for an equally delicious price.

An exciting Beer Masterclass will be taking place at Piggs, Edinburgh, on 1st September, offering guests the chance to sit down to a guided Beer Tasting hosted by Estrella Galicia Brand Ambassador Miles Ley and owner of Piggs, Daniel Campos. Attendees will learn about the story, inspirations and flavours from four Estrella Galicia beers whilst enjoying each with perfectly paired tapas, for just £30.

Tomate con Anchoas
Vine tomato with hand-picked canterbury anchovies, fresh rocket, tomato and Spanish capers
Pan con Tomate
Toasted sourdough bread served with garlic, oil & fresh tomato

Estrella Galicia Cerveza Lager paired with:

Pulpo a la Gallega
Galician sliced octopus served on a bed of spicy mash potatoes, finished with Maldon Sea salt and smoked paprika

Padron Peppers
Fried green peppers from Padron, in Galicia, sprinkled with Maldon Sea salt

1906 Reserva Especial paired with:

Spanish Charcuteria
A selection of Spanish air-dried meats: Jamon Reserva, Chorizo, Salchichon, Lomo, Sobrasada and Morcilla served with nibbles

1906 Black Coupage paired with:

Plato de Queso
A selection of three traditional Spanish cheeses with quince jelly, almonds, walnuts and picos

For those who can’t make the masterclass, Piggs will also be participating in the Beer & Bite part of Gastronomy Month, meaning that at any point in September guests can bag a delicious tapas and beer pairing for an equally delicious price.  Piggs will be offering three Beer & Bite bundles throughout September:
