Edinburgh International Festival Serves Up a Taster of 2025 with Ice Cream and Artistry
Usher Hall Edinburgh During International Festival 2019

On Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th March, a large yellow ice cream van will be stationed outside the Usher Hall to give audiences a flavour of the 2025 Festival programme.

This year’s hand-picked selection of leading international and local artists, underpinned by timely theme The Truth We Seek, promises opportunities to experience world-class artists in thought-provoking and unconventional ways.

Programme highlights include Make It Happen, a new play by James Graham starring Brian Cox, Mary, Queen of Scots presented by Scottish Ballet and Festival debuts from rising classical artists, violinist María Dueñas, mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo, and 2024 BBC Young Musician of the Year Ryan Wang.

To celebrate this year’s line-up, the International Festival will collaborate with local gelato connoisseurs S Luca, to offer ice cream flavours inspired by the opera, music, theatre and dance genres.

Audiences can also expect to receive brochures and show recommendations for a boundary-breaking programme of outstanding artistry.

The yellow van will be parked outside the Usher Hall from 12-4pm, with the Edinburgh International Festival presenting its world-class programme from 1-24 August 2025.
