ECCAN’s Greenlight Fund Opens for 2025–26 to Support Local Climate Action

Published:

Edinburgh Communities Climate Action Network (ECCAN) has launched the Greenlight Funding Programme for 2025–26, inviting applications from local community groups leading the way in climate action across the city. With £115,000 available, Greenlight offers a vital opportunity to bring locally-driven, climate-focused projects to life.

Applications are open and will close on Friday 1 August 2025.

Greenlight is ECCAN’s annual seed grant fund, designed to support small and medium-scale community-led initiatives that tackle the climate and nature emergency in Edinburgh. Funding is open to not-for-profit organisations and individuals applying on behalf of informal community groups, with specific support available for micro-projects.

“We were delighted to witness the positive impact of Greenlight last year. Providing seedgrant funding to groups working at the heart of community climate action is not only vital — it’s transformative. The creativity, commitment, and tangible results from last year’s recipients show just how powerful locally driven solutions can be in tackling the climate crisis and nature emergency.”

Mark Dowey, ECCAN’s Network Lead
